Things we LOVED...

-Stylists coming to us.  Loved it!  I was sort of a mess in the morning and it was nice to be able to just chill and get ready at the same time without having to run around.

-We gave each person who needed to do things on the wedding day their own personal schedule with the times and places they specifically needed to know on it.  OMG this made things so much easier!  No one had any questions, they just knew where to be and when!  Hooray!

-Having a first look.  It was very special and I couldn't wait to see him!  I was a bit overwhelmed in the morning and I had contemplated going downstairs in our hotel to see him, but I'm glad I waited!  They're some of my favorite pictures as well.

-Instead of having a traditional receiving line, we decided to usher out all of our guests ourselves instead.  We absolutely loved this and it was one of our favorite parts of the day!  We had planned on doing a receiving line until our church coordinator told us that it would take way longer than we had hoped.  We wanted to be on our limo by 4 and doing it this way was much quicker and I think less awkward for everyone!

-Having a limo!  This was SO fun!!  There was so much stress and tension leading up to the ceremony that it was nice to unwind and have a blast with our closest friends before going to our reception.  We had planned to do some bar hopping but we ended up just riding around in the limo because we were having such a great time.

-Being flexible with the reception music.  People will request songs and that's ok.  You'll end up having a way more fun dance if you just go with the flow!!  We had so many people requesting songs that they wanted to hear because of a memory they had with me, and a lot of times it was songs that I hadn't even thought of!  Our dance floor was packed the entire night.

-Having 2 photographers.  We liked having different angles on pictures and things like that.  Even though it was the same pose, sometimes one or the other camera took a way better photo.  I also felt that they didn't miss anything!

-Doing a photo slideshow of our childhood.  People really liked this and it was fun to share both of our backgrounds a little more.

-My PA was my hero.  She was in charge of me basically...she made sure I drank water, she kept track of my stuff, and she did anything else I needed.  Make sure you have someone to do this for you...your mind will be going in a million different directions on that day and it is so nice to have someone thinking straight!

-Go somewhere after your wedding!  You need this time away after all the chaos.  We went to Mexico for a week and loved it!

Things that went wrong or things we may have changed...

-Be careful with your flowers if it is hot out.  Our guys' bouts literally MELTED and fell apart.  All I can do is laugh when I see them in the pictures!

-Order a few extra bouts!  I wish I would have...

-Wear as little as possible under your dress.  It's a long day and you want to be as comfortable as possible.  I wore a long line bra and slip to make my dress a little puffier on the bottom and i was pretty miserable.  My dress felt SO tight and since it was 90 degrees, I was really hot too!

-Give someone a list of who needs bouts and corsages.  This would have made the whole pinning process much easier if I had thought of it since we had so many people who needed flowers.

-Add extra time onto your schedule for pictures.  Things happen and it is SO easy to fall behind!

-Either hire a videographer or make sure someone is taking video of the ceremony for you.  We didn't do this and we really wish we had because the ceremony was a total blur and I don't remember much of it!

-Have someone check on your hair every so often and touch it up.  Mine was a low curly updo and I had some curls start to fall out.  It really bugs me when i look at pictures.

-Get your thank you notes done as soon as you can!  Its very very hard to find motivation to do these...
